14 days: small and big Ararat tour

Brief description This new tour enables a trekking tour over the mountains south of the large and small Ararat for the first time. For two days we hike from the famous Ishak Pasha Palace high above Dogubayazit over the Kizildagi and through small Kurdish villages to the “landing site of Noah's Ark”. The hike is at an average altitude of around 2,500m, but by no means always flat. We meet the local population and are greeted warmly. Again and again we see the big Ararat (5.165m) and his little brother (3.935m) in the north. They are only separated from us by a wide valley. So we can prepare ourselves for the two summits in our minds. These days help us to understand Mount Ararat, to understand it, to accept it as a gift, to discover the sacred in it and then finally to climb it. Mount Ararat is revered as a holy mountain in Turkey as well as in Armenia, Georgia and the other cultures that live at its foot. After a farewell dinner with a Kurdish family, take a trip to the picturesque fish lake and a boat trip to Akdamar island in the middle of Lake Van.
