Ararat Region to Dogubayzit. Here you will visit the fascinating ruins of the Ishak Pasha Palace before heading to the starting point of the climb in Eli the next day. In Eli at the foot of the mythical mountain you begin the 5-day climb (including acclimatization day) to the summit of Mount Ararat. The path leads past Kurdish nomads, alpine meadows and over scree paths to the summit. From the highest point in the country you have a unique view over the lowlands of Turkey all the way to Armenia and Iran. The descent takes place via the ascent route to the village of Eli. In Dogubayzit you end your trip with a traditional Kurdish dinner

1 day. Flight from Switzerland via Istanbul, onward flight to Van. Transfer from Van airport (1727 m) with the same name Lake in Eastern Anatolia to Doğubayazıt directly to the hotel (- /- /A) --> definitely take your luggage in Istanbul and do it yourself check in again after van
2 day. Drive to the starting point of the climb at approx. 2200 m and climb to camp 1 (3200 m, approx. 4 hours). Luggage is transported by horses. Overnight in a tent. (F/L/A)
3 day. Acclimatization climb (5 h). Climb over narrow serpentines almost to camp 2 without luggage and test the Height adjustment. When you take a break, you can see past Little Ararat and all the way to Iran. After the descent, eat in Camp. Overnight stay again in Camp 1. (B/L/D)
4 day. Dismantling the tents and climbing to camp 2 (4200 m, 5 h); Luggage transport by horses; the tents are up Protected from the wind behind stone walls. It will be a relatively short night; Overnight in a tent. (F/L/A)

Mount Ararat, also known as Great Ararat, is a dormant volcano in the Ararat Highlands in eastern Anatolia near the borders of Armenia, Iran and the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan.At 5137 m, it is the highest mountain in Turkey. The Kurdish name, Çiyayê Agirî, means 'the fiery mountain'.
